Karen Pryor Academy (2007)

A school for animal trainers that's a hybrid of online learning and hands-on workshops. Includes the ability for graduates to create their own accounts and profile pages which are searchable by the public in the "Find a Dog Trainer!" area (also available at www.greatdogtrainers.com)

I developed and designed this site using PHP, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript based on Drupal CMS.

Karen Pryor Clickertraining (2006)

The main website for Karen Pryor Clickertraining, an animal training and behavior publisher. This site is unique in applying a user rewards program for user contribution that is based on clicker training and operant conditioning. The system I developed here has bee presented at professional and academy conferences on both coasts.

I developed and designed this site using PHP, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and a little AJAX, based on Drupal CMS.

Canis Film Festival (2006)

A video contest that allows animal trainers and enthusiasts to upload digital video of their training and be judged by a panel of experts, with a production contract as one of the prizes.

I developed and designed this site using PHP, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript.

ClickFlicks (2006)

A video and eBook download service. It includes a system for delivering DRM-enabled video, and full-text search of hundreds of videos, and Flash-based previews and "free flicks".

Older Projects (pre-2002)

Safari: Tech Books Online (2001)
An Online Books joint venture between O'Reilly & Associates and Pearson, Safari brings over 70% of all computer books online, with full-text search, annotation, book-swapping, and a host of other features. I designed and coordinated the development of the user interface to Safari, using everything from HTML and CSS to XML and ASP, to create a usable, unified design to this immense library of information.
Chaffee & Partners (1999)
Marketing agency in Providence where I worked as the Online Media Designer. All the design and production of this site was part of my responsibilities, where I added not only layout and graphics, but also 3D panoramas, Flash and dHTML.
Rhetorically Speaking (1999)
Paper on the use of rhetoric and logic in hypertext.

Analog2Digital (2000-2001)
Personal website and weblog. Built using Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and Blogger.
Hypercubes (1999)
Honors Thesis as a hypertext fiction work. Hypercubes is the main component of the gallery installation by the same name, shown in 2000 at Brown University.
Border Visions (1999)
Upcoming course at Brown University, funded under a Wayland Collegium grant. I designed the site, graphics, and consulted on the content; this site was presented before assorted faculty and administrators as part of a talk on technology in education by Robert Arellano, English Professor at Brown.
EL100: Advanced Hypertext Fiction (2000)
Course at Brown University. I designed the site and consulted on the content, as well as previously being a teaching assistant.
Words (1998)
Flash animation built as a class project; all illustrations, animation, text and concepts original.
Talking Head [portfolio] (1998)
Demo of Macromedia Fireworks highlighted on CMP's WebTools, which uses JavaScript rollovers to update three different image areas, including a speech balloon and thought balloon which make conflicting comments on the same moused-over item.
